Fluorescent Lighting Fixture
A fluorescent lighting fixture can have several different features available on it. One of
the features is that it is adjustable after it is has been installed. Another feature available on some lights is that they can rotate one
hundred and eighty degrees.
Compared to incandescent lighting, fluorescent is more energy efficient. Most homeowners are aware
of the push to more energy efficient products and lighting is a large area of concern regarding energy efficiency.
The most popular version of fluorescent lighting
fixtures is the elongated tubes. You will find these types of fixtures in public places all over North America. They can even be installed
in an exterior area that is covered from the elements. Many people are irritated by the brightness of these lights. It can be quite harsh,
unnatural, and hard on the eyes after awhile.
New on the market are compact fluorescent bulbs. These are interchangeable with incandescent
bulbs. When used with colored shades these can provide an interesting colored look to the area you are lighting. Colored bulbs are available but
they are more expensive. Another factor that people like regarding these types of bulbs is that they give off a lot less heat than incandescent
bulbs.
Even though many people find the light from a fluorescent lighting fixture to be quite harsh, the
light emitted from incandescent lights is found to be quite harsh by many other people. Practically all types of white light with good color
rendition are the trademark of fluorescent lighting. An older style light would give off an odd or eerie looking glow, this no longer occurs with
newer lights. You can find these lights at your local lighting center or at any big box home center.
